A Beer Time of Year

Christmas beer in July is the best! [haiku: Spring beer, summer beer, / winter beer, fall. Years of beers, / and I'll drink them all.]

This haiku was inspired by my current favorite beer, Sierra Nevada Tumbler, an autumn ale. If not for the promise of the winter beers, I'd be a little sad that fall was ending.

It appears that drawing passed out people is becoming one of my new pastimes.

Cave Dwelling

And how killer? Just wait and find out. [haiku: How cool would it be / to live in this killer cave? / Fifty-five degrees.]

This haiku was inspired by thoughts on cave life. I guessed on the temperature, but the cave in question is in Virginia, where cave temperatures are often around fifty-five degrees Fahrenheit.

What happens in the woods...

But the woods conceal their secrets. [haiku: No river of clouds / can hide what the coyotes / did out there last night.]

This haiku was inspired by an awesome weekend of backpacking in Grayson Highlands, Virginia. The photo is of the view from our tent one morning, which shows what our friend described as a "river of clouds." In the daylight, the highlands are overrun by wild ponies. At night, the coyotes come out...

Meet Pukey and Bitey!

Please adopt Pukey and Bitey ... Er, what are they called again?

NEW THING! This is the beginning of a quasi-fictional, multimedia story about the two cats we recently adopted. We were wondering why they don't seem to know their names -- above is the prevailing theory of what happened before we met them.

Edit to add: Please know that we love the cats, flaws and all!
