Dreaming Big

...which, I must say, is FAR more reasonable than wishing for a unicorn. [haiku: I set my goals high. / Highly unachievable. / I want a narwhal.]

Why? Because narwhals are awesome.

This haiku was inspired by a discussion with Eric about winning the lottery. Written and doodled by me.

I forgot to mention that the "Solstice is Wiccan Awesome!" shirt, which is based on this illustrated haiku, is now available at the Ten East Read store. Check it out for awesomeness!

Never bet against a yeti named Freddy. [haiku: No other yeti / have I met. But he's like no / yeti I've met yet.]

This haiku was inspired by thoughts on yeti. I always feel sorry for yeti when they're called abominable snowmen -- I'm sure they can't be all that bad.

I drew this by hand and colored it in photoshop. Maybe someday I'll get better at that...

Badass Haiku - Revisited

Gnomes are pretty badass. [haiku: I wrote a story / once, in good fun, just to watch / a character die]

I am revisiting this unillustrated haiku because I've been sick all week. Fortunately, Christiann showed me Photogene, this awesome iPhone app yesterday. So, I create this image from my sickbed using her guidance, my iPhone and my gnome collection.

The gnome is becoming a recurring character in my writing-themed haiku.

Truly the Best

And it was nice to share it with you. [haiku: I glowed when she said, / -This was the best day ever!- / without irony.]

I wrote this haiku after overhearing some kids at a pumpkin patch the other day. Kids say the best things.

Words by me, photo by Eric.
